Terms of use
Effective 26 September 2026
These terms apply to the Momclear iPhone app and this website ("Momclear", "we"). By using Momclear you agree to them. If you download the app from the App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies; where the two differ, these terms add to it for the Momclear service.
1. Educational information, not medical advice
Momclear gives educational information about product ingredients based on the stage you select. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and it does not replace advice from a doctor, midwife, pharmacist or other healthcare professional.
- Results are generated by an AI model from the ingredients we can read. They can be incomplete or wrong — for example, if a label is unclear, an ingredient isn't recognised, or product data is out of date.
- A "no concern found" result is not a guarantee that a product is safe for you. Momclear does not know how much you use, your medical history, or other products and medicines you take.
- Momclear does not cover medicines, supplement doses or symptoms.
- Always check with a healthcare professional before making decisions about your health or your baby's health. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
See how verdicts work for more on how results are made and their limits.
2. Who can use Momclear
Momclear is intended for adults. You are responsible for how you use the information it provides.
3. Free scans and subscriptions
- Momclear includes a limited number of free scans each week. A Premium subscription raises the weekly limit.
- Premium is an auto-renewing subscription sold by Apple through the App Store. The price and billing period are shown before you confirm the purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends; your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your iPhone's Settings under your Apple ID → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
4. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- submit images or text other than product labels and ingredient lists — in particular, other people's personal information;
- attempt to bypass the scan limits, copy, reverse engineer or resell the service, or send automated requests to our servers;
- use Momclear in a way that breaks the law or interferes with the service for others.
We may suspend access for misuse.
5. What you submit
You keep any rights you have in the photos and text you submit. You let us process them to produce your result, as described in our privacy policy.
6. Product data from others
Barcode lookups use the open Open Food Facts and Open Beauty Facts databases, which are maintained by volunteers and may be incomplete or out of date. Always check the label on the product you have.
7. Our content
The Momclear app, website, name and ingredient guides belong to us. The ingredient guides cite third-party sources, which belong to their owners.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep Momclear available and accurate but can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or discontinue features. If we change these terms, we'll update the date above; continuing to use Momclear after a change means you accept the updated terms.
9. Limitation of liability
Momclear is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or harm arising from your reliance on results or information from Momclear. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
