Privacy policy

Effective 30 September 2026

This policy covers the Momclear iPhone app and this website. In short: there is no account, your scan history stays on your device, nothing you scan is used for advertising, the app sends anonymous usage and crash data that you can turn off in Settings, and this website only counts visits if you agree.

The app

What stays on your iPhone

What is sent to check a product

Please don't photograph anything other than a product label — for example, avoid capturing faces or documents.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled by Apple and managed through RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase records to confirm what you have access to. We never see your payment details. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Usage and crash data

To see which features help and to fix bugs, the app uses Google's Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. This is on by default, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings → Share usage and crash data. When it is off, the app stops sending both.

We never send the ingredients, label photos, product names or barcodes you scan to Firebase. Ad personalisation is switched off, the app does not use Apple's advertising identifier or ask to track you, and this data is never used for advertising. We also share the random Firebase identifier with RevenueCat so purchase events can be matched to usage events. Google processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy and the Firebase privacy terms.
